Blu products launching a new series of cheap smartphones starting at just $49. Its even cheaper than $99 Lumia 520 or recently priced down $199 Nexus 4. The smartphone series starts with the Dash Jr., a 3.5-inch dual-SIM smartphone that costs just $49 (unlocked), contains single-core Spreadtrum processor, 2G-only data, 2-megapixel camera and Android 2.3. Other, the Dash Music 4.0 ($99) and Dash 5.0 ($129) raise to their namesake larger screens, dual-core MediaTek chips, 3G data, higher-resolution cameras and newer version of Android 4.2.

Nokia’s first extra-large smartphone, possibly called the Lumia 1520, is near launch. Its not confirmed yet the photo that has circulated is a true photo of Nokia Lumia 1520, but its the first one that purportedly appeared on the internet. Twitter seems to be serious about monitoring TV trends, the company just bought Trendrr. The idea is to give Twitter new tools for tracking social network activity during TV broadcasts. It will be some time before we see the results of the acquisition, but the increasingly tighter links between Twitter activity and TV suggest that the buyout could prove worthwhile in the long run. Nokia announces new 515, an aluminum Series 40 phone for just $150, a candybar Series 40 handset which has a chassis crafted with anodized aluminum, a 2.4-inch QVGA LCD panel covered with Gorilla Glass 2 and a keypad that features a new type of polycarbonate resin. The device measures 11mm thick and offers a 5MP rear camera with LED flash, 256MB internal storage, microSD support up to 32GB, Bluetooth 3.0, HD Voice and USB tethering.
